Research on environmental sustainability in the Scientific Initiation Plans of a public IES

The research carried out in Scientific Initiation (IC) encourages the investigation of solutions to impasses in several areas of knowledge and, among these areas, environmental sustainability, which has been widely debated in recent years. Thus, the general aim is to analyze the history of Scientific Initiation Plans, in a public Higher Education Institution (IES), in research in Environmental Sustainability, between 2006 and 2021. An analysis and selection protocol were followed in the titles of the IC plans, registered in the database of the Division of Scientific Initiation. Data analysis, with the predominant use of descriptive statistics, identified 4,374 plans, with only 400 plans addressing environmental sustainability, that is, 9.14%. Most belong to the Engineering, Biological and Agricultural areas (50.76%) with an approach in several thematic axes, with waste (20.91%) being the most highlighted in the research. Among the modalities, PIBIC stands out (54.75%), which includes a scholarship provided by CNPq and IES.

Human rights and offenses against honor in the digital era

This article addresses the theme of offenses against honor in the digital era and analyzes how Brazilian legislation combats these infractions. With the advancement of technology and the advent of the internet, the dissemination of information and quick access to social networks have provided a conducive environment for the spread of insults and defamatory information. In this context, offenses against honor - slander, defamation, and insult - take on new dimensions and challenges in the digital era. Given this scenario, the central objective of this work is to provide an in-depth analysis of offenses against honor in the Digital Era, elucidating their characteristics, the legal treatment established by Brazilian legislation, and the intrinsic relationship with Human Rights. The aim is to understand how technological evolution has influenced the commission of these offenses and how the legal system must adapt to this new reality, ensuring the protection of essential values for societal coexistence. The methodology employed in this research will be bibliographic in nature, based on qualitative and quantitative sources, with analysis of doctrines, scientific articles, case law, and relevant legal norms on the subject. The results of this research point to the need for broader and updated legislation to address offenses against honor in the digital era. Technological evolution has brought new forms of propagation of insults, such as social networks and messaging applications, which demand a more effective approach by legal authorities in identifying and holding offenders accountable.

The treatment of autism in therapeutic riding

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a behavioral disorder, considered a neurobiological disorder, which leads to changes in social interaction, difficulty in expression, affectivity, affecting the way in which the child sees the world. Defined by the Associação Nacional de Equoterapia (ANDE) as a therapeutic and educational method, therapeutic riding uses the horse as a therapeutic resource and aims to promote the biopsychosocial development of individuals. The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of therapeutic riding in the treatment of autism. Four children of both sexes were assessed using the M-CHAT scale and given therapeutic riding. The results obtained were satisfactory in 75% of the children assessed, showing a reduction in the score on the M-CHAT scale. Therefore, therapeutic riding is a promising alternative for engaging children and families with ASD.

Analysis of the services of the Psychosocial Care Network: an integrative review

The Psychiatric Reform propitiated to the emergence of substitutive services for psychiatric hospitals to care for and welcome people in psychological distress. Thus, this article aims to address the perception of these services in the current scenario based on the productions found on the subject. The methodology used was the Integrative Review in the main databases in the period of ten years (2012 to 2022), which resulted in the analysis of 26 studies. It is considered that there is a predominance of qualitative research and that, despite advances, the Rede de Atenção Psicossocial (RAPS) still seems to run into constant challenges, evidenced by the scrapping of services, which result in a network that is incipient, due to the lack of financial and human investments, and which worsened from 2017 onwards due to a government project that operated in a process of dismantling and neglect, going against the grain of the advances achieved in recent decades.

Development of mobile application in dermatological and aesthetic dysfunction

The mostly Brazilian population present common disorders among young and adults peoples denominated aesthetic diseases, for example acne, melasma, psoriasis and nettle rash. Given this scenario, the development of a mobile application has become feasible, with technology growing exponentially, and, at the same time, there is also an increased interest for developing new ways of disseminating content in a practical way. In this study, the aim was to help nonprofessional, academics and health and aesthetic professionals. A large percentage were young people (74.7%), aged between 18 and 29 years old, but the target of the application is not exclusive to this profile. Our research resulted in good metrics, among them, the public studied is interested in paying to have the application on their smartphone. Thus, the virtual atlas of aesthetic dysfunctions demonstrated to be a tool for nonprofessional and professionals helping in the acquisition of information.

Epidemiological evaluation of equine infectious anemia in the Americas

The aim was to analyze the epidemiological profile of Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) in the Americas. A cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative investigation was carried out involving countries located in the Americas. The data were collected from information available in official databases. In the studied period, 74,932 cases were notified in the Americas (except Brazil). In Brazil, 73,536 cases were reported and prevalence of 1.3 case per 100 animals, with the states of Ceará, Maranhão, Roraima, and Alagoas. The state of Ceará, Piauí, and the Federal District had the lowest number of cases per focus, which suggests greater spread of the disease in these states. The conclusion is that Brazil has a low prevalence of reported EIA; however, the importance of the disease for the sector, measures of active surveillance in animals should be adopted and preventive actions in the context of One Health implemented.

The relationship between hospitalization for COVID-19 and post-traumatic stress disorder: an integrative review

This study consists of an integrative review of the literature, which aimed to analyze the manifestation of symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in patients who experienced the hospitalization process due to COVID-19, according to scientific literature. To collect data, the PubMed, LILACS, and Cochrane Library databases were consulted. The inclusion criteria were defined as: clinical trials, published between 2020 and 2023, available in Portuguese, English or Spanish, which address topics related to the prevalence of PTSD associated with hospitalization for COVID-19. The final sample was composed of articles that were detailed through the systematization of thematic axes: 1) PTSD and patients hospitalized for COVID-19; 2) The severity of the COVID-19 disease and PTSD; 3) Social support, psychological impact, and PTSD. Although there is little evidence of the direct effects of hospitalization on patients' mental health, there is a restriction of increased levels of PTSD in patients infected and hospitalized by COVID-19.

Guarani Mbya crafting arts: identity and traditional culture

With the application of interdisciplinarity between Anthropology, Ethnology, Ethnography and History, we seek to assess the mythical commitment between craft initiatives from an ancestral past and the process of interculturality experienced by the Mbya in Brazil. Through knowledge, the past is made present and experienced in everyday life, as representatives of values incurred in the mythical sphere. Indigenous art can be evaluated as a renaissance operation in the search for the myth, as the founder of reality. Along the lines suggested by Darcy Ribeiro, Cristina Pompa and Michel de Certeau, indigenous artistic manifestations are considered as expressive actions of the concept of intangible cultural heritage, making up traditional knowledge. The artifacts themselves translate a set of resources used for the transmission of cosmological knowledge. At the same time, they ensure a source of income bordering the space of their villages and urban areas, difficult to delimit, given the coexistence between urban, suburban and border areas.

Perspectives of remote teaching in Accounting Sciences: an investigation with students during the covid-19 pandemic

The covid-19 pandemic has brought impacts of great magnitudes, including significant changes that needed to be made in the way Accounting Sciences courses are conducted, resulting in paradigms to be analyzed and the students' perspective on the remote teaching model that was employed. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the students' perception regarding the shift from in-person to remote teaching in the Accounting Sciences course during this epidemic period. The research was conducted in 2020, applying a questionnaire with 16 questions to 50 students of the Accounting course. Through this research, it was possible to perceive the panorama of the transition from in-person to remote teaching for these students, which was a period that required a great need for reinvention by the students, despite challenges and specific aspects of dissatisfaction.

The work that follows aims to be a commentary on an article in the Summa Theologica of Saint Thomas Aquinas (ST, I, q. 6, a. 2), which is enunciated through the question: “Does the highest good have the idea of an ultimate end?”. From this article, an orientation will be structured for the discussion of the ethical and philosophical problem of the ultimate end of the human being. To cope with the task, the method used will be the construction of a discursive essay, based on the crossing of sources obtained through the hypertextual orientation that happens in the readings and in the identification of areas of study and commentators. As far as possible, the dialectical structure of the argumentative construction, typical of medieval summistic literature, is also mirrored.

Sex crimes against children and adolescents: a human rights approach

Brazilian law plays a fundamental role in society, whether protecting, regulating it, or seeking order, progress and harmony among citizens. Despite all this effort, a society composed of men is vulnerable to bestialized actions by some, such as, for example, sexual crimes that are present in this society. Doing a coexisting reading, it is clear that these crimes have increased significantly, with children and adolescents as the main victims, much of this progress is due to the evolution of social networks and state negligence. Faced with this social, technological evolution and behavioral regression of man, an analysis is necessary to understand and elucidate the origin of these crimes, as well as to remedy and fight them efficiently.

Minds and bodies in the construction of knowledge and in the development of skills: a path through sensory literacies and the approaches of feeling and meaning

The demarcation line between minds and bodies and reason and emotion, established by classical science, is still strongly perceived in the various studies and research in the areas of human sciences and education. This article aims to deconstruct the transcendence of cognitive processes – the mind, in relation to the sensory senses and feelings, the body, with regard to the construction of knowledge and to the development of human knowledge. Therefore, we decided to analyze a brief autobiographical account about the academic trajectory of one of the authors of this article. Regarding the theoretical path adopted in this work, we made use of sensory literacy, proposed by Mills (2016), and the concepts of feeling and meaning, discussed by Lemke (2010, 2013), due to the fact that these researches defend the immanence of the body in relation to the mind.
