Abstract

The present study aims to investigate public policies on circular economy implemented in various countries and their applicability in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). Using a methodological approach that combines literature review and questionnaire application, the objective is to understand the policies adopted and the practices of companies located in the PIM. The sample, composed of 153 companies, revealed that the majority implement waste management (66.20%) and use renewable energy sources (25.5%). However, significant barriers were identified, such as a lack of economic resources and a shortage of qualified workforce. Additionally, many companies do not use new technologies and do not replace traditional technologies with green ones. The results indicate the need for public policies that incentivize the adoption of circular practices and address the economic and technological barriers faced by PIM companies. This study contributes to advancing knowledge about circular economy and developing strategies that promote sustainability and competitiveness of companies in the region.
